Bernie was abandoned at a gas station in Texas with a female dog. Someone rescued her, but left Bernie behind. Fortunately one of our volunteers in the area saved him. Bernie is a sweet, playful, friendly boy. He’s still very much a puppy. He lives in foster care with Marcey Davis Lonestar. Bernie definitely needs another dog in his forever home. He LOVES and NEEDS another dog. His foster mom has this to say about him: "Bernie is just a large, lovable puppy. He could use a little training as far as manners like any puppy would need. He seems to crave companionship with another dog. Bernie does very well on leashed walks through our neighborhood. He naps a lot during the work day but is ready to chase a tennis ball or toy as soon as I get home. Bernie is a little cautious when meeting new people but warms up quickly. He loves head scratches and belly rubs. He will be a wonderful companion animal."
